So Cheeky

Journalling reads: If I had to pick just one photo to sum you up, it would be this one. It shows off your cheeky impish personality perfectly. I actually remember that when I took this photo I was trying to get a photograph of your first tooth while you were stood in the travel cot. Every time I focused the camera you would start jumping up or sitting down or even worse closing your mouth and shaking your head. Somehow even though your mouth is wide open in this shot we still couldn’t manage to capture that tooth! 1st June 2010.

Loving Brothers

Journalling reads: We took these photos when Logan was finally released from the hospital, Lukas was anxious and excited to see his baby brother again. Poor Logan was simply overwhelmed by the constant kissing and cuddles from his big brother. Unfortunately Lukas just could not seem to be able to help himself from constantly wanting to touch his baby brother, no matter how much trouble it got him in. I would love the say the novelty of having a baby brother wore off but we still have the same problems even now. I guess it’s lucky that Logan loves him just as much.

Just The Three Of Us

Journalling reads: This is one of those wedding photos that I have always overlooked, to me it was just us coming out of the registry office, standing at the top of the steps, nothing really special. At least it wasn’t until I looked through the photographs a bit closer and realised this is the only one of the three of us together. The photographer never bothered to take group shots.

Lego Harry Potter

Journalling reads: When it comes to surprises you are a lot like me, impatient and difficult, it’s not that you don’t like them, it’s just you find it so hard to wait for anything. But me and Daddy were able to purchase the new Harry Potter Lego game for the X-Box and surprise you. I love this photo of your reaction.

Journalling reads: While Daddy used to go off and ride his thrill rides, and rollercoasters we used to go off and do our own thing. Sometimes that mean’t me finding a seat while you rode on kiddy rides alone, but usually once it started getting dark that mean’t at least one ride together on the carousel. The rides always lasted a long time then because it was never very busy. You loved the lights and the music and I liked the chance to warm up a little bit and have a rest. You always asked to sit in one of the spinning seats. They had leatherette bench seats and a wheel in the centre to make the whole seat spin around. You would beg me to spin it around super fast until you couldn’t take it anymore. Then you would tell me very loudly and panic everyone else on the ride “stop it, I am going to throw up” before laughing and telling me to spin it again. It was always really nice for us to get the chance to do this together. Whenever you rode the carousel with your Daddy you always insisted he pick you up and put you on one of the horses. I couldn’t manage to lift you up onto those so this was kind of our special little thing for us to do together.

Journalling reads: When it comes to birthday presents, I have a very bad habit of giving them to the boys early. Iam awful at keeping secrets from people and surprising them, mostly because I am so impatient. I want to see their reaction as soon as I have the gift to give them. This year that ended up working in my favour for once. I gave the boys one of Logan’s birthday presents to play with one day when they were being noisy and annoying each other. I thought it would be a good distraction and an activity they could do together. They had a lot of fun playing with it and fighting over who got what to play with. Their birthdays ended up being really rubbish, so I am glad that they at least had this chance to play with and enjoy one of the birthday presents, before all of the chaos. Even if all of the little bits are now missing. Although the best part for me is having photographic evidence that they can play nicely together!

Im So Bored

Journalling reads: When we took you to Jamboray for your birthday, we were expecting to be there a while. What we hadn’t expected was how boring sitting there for hour after hour was. Daddy amused himself playing games on his phone and playing the Nintendo DS, he’s easily frustrated when he’s bored. I mostly tried to run around behind you snapping picture after picture, and doing crazy things like going down the slide with you. Eventually I was too worn out to play anymore, so I went and sat on the sofas with Daddy. kicked off my shoes and sat back to relax. I usually don’t get bored, because I am always doing something. The first thing I tried was sketching out some page designs for layouts, after that I tried organising some things on my phone, before giving in and playing your Nintendo DS. I was really mad with myself because it felt like such a huge waste of time and it was making my hands really hurt. Lesson learnt next time I am taking a magazine to read! or better still, the laptop so I can scrap while you play!
