Journalling reads: As a scrapper I often take a lot of photos in my attempt to get one good one. But sometimes it’s not about trying to get a great shot, it’s simply about capturing a moment in time. Like these photos of Nan and Lukas. I took them on my mobile phone because I thought it was so cute how he was cuddling with her. The colour is bad, the quality is awful and they are super tiny, but these 3 photos mean more to me than a lot of the other more “perfect” shots.

Journalling reads: Ever since I was a kid, Nan has always been the same way. Her priorities have always been simple, she does whatever makes everyone else happy. It doesn’t matter if it’s not something that she wants to do, it doesn’t matter if she feels ill or is in pain. Somehow she finds the strength to get herself ready, do her hair and make-up and plasters on a smile so that she can hide the way she really feels from the world. It really takes a special kind of person to willingly sit for hours in uncomfortable chairs and pay to be surrounded by other people’s screaming kids in an indoor play area. Just because she knew that Ella and Lukas would love it. It’s impossible to describe how much she suffers by doing this but because she is so unselfish she does it anyway. I hope that someday I am even half the woman that she is. We are so lucky to have her!

Journalling reads: Thanks to the poor lighting in the school hall, this was the only fairly decent photo I managed to get during your first Nativity play. You were part of the choir and had a red star tied around your neck. You were not happy and seemed a lot more interested in chewing the string on your star, than you did in standing and singing.

Journalling reads: Logan is a lot like Lukas when it comes to putting things in his mouth. He loves to chew on things that he shouldn’t have. Some of his favourite things to suck and chew on are strings, shoelaces and straps. But hands down his most favourite thing is ribbons. When he found my ribbon bag, he must have thought he had died and gone to heaven. Out of all the ribbons I had in the bag, this Christmas one appealed to him the most and he happily munched on it in his swing for over an hour, before falling fast asleep, still holding it.

Journalling reads: If someone was to give me just one wish, I would wish that this time would last a little bit longer. I sit here beside you just watching you sleep. You look so peaceful and innocent. You don’t have a single care in the world as you dream your little baby dreams. All too soon you will be learning new things and growing up, changing from a baby to a little boy. It’s going to be a fun ride but there will never be another moment in time where you rely completely on me, I am going to miss you just being my little baby boy Logan.
