Journalling reads: For most people a shot of the bride’s bouquet is one of the many standard wedding photos. But when have I ever been like most normal people. I managed to forget my bouquet in the rush to get to the registry office on time. We never even realised until it came to taking photos outside We ended up making a detour back home on the way to our wedding reception to grab it.

Pwetty Pink Piggies

Journalling reads: It all started when I was looking through my make-up bag to see what I had for the wedding we were going to. Logan was fascinated by the single bottle of nail varnish that I had in there. He kept bringing me the bottle since he couldn’t understand what it was. I decided the only way to satisfy him was to show him what it was for. So I opened the bottle, lifted him on to my lap and I painted his big toe for him. He was thrilled and got all excited. He insisted on showing everyone. In our house it’s pretty much always a case of monkey see, monkey do. So Lukas decided that even though he hates pink with a passion, if Logan has one nail painted than he wanted one painting too. They seemed content with their single painted nail, or at least Lukas was. Logan was only pacified with that until he saw me painting my nails in an effort to hide the big ugly bruise on one of my toes. Then he decided that one nail was no longer enough. He demanded that I paint all of his nails just like mine. I decided that it just wasn’t worth that argument, I mean really so what if he wanted his nails painted, if he was a girl nobody would have said a word about it. So even though Mark didn’t like the idea, I did it anyway. Logan was really pleased when it was done, he kept looking at them and saying “pwetty, pwetty” “pwetty piggies” “pwetty pink piggies” it made him happy and that’s the only thing I really care about anyway.

Journalling reads: When Nana fell and broke her arm she had lots of hospital appointments, most of them were while you were at school, so I just went with Nana. But on this occasion we had an afternoon appointment so you had to come with us. We had a really long wait but you were a really good boy, you sat nicely and played with all of the toys in the waiting room. Your favourite toy seemed to be a big Transformers monster truck. I did take some photographs of you, but they didn’t turn out great, thanks in part to the really bad lighting, and they were really blurry because you just don’t sit still. Eventually we were done and it was time to leave, Nana wanted to do some shopping and after that the best place to call and wait for a taxi is in the reception for the Children’s hospital. You were fascinated by this new wooden dragon ride. It’s a little bit like a rocking horse, there is a seat and straps for your feet, you sit on it and then it swings backwards and forwards. It was not very easy to get you up on to it, since the seat is quite high and you are a really big boy. With a combination of pushing, pulling and lifting I managed to get you up in to the seat. Then you decided that you were scared and wanted to get straight down. I asked if you would mind me taking one photograph before you did, you reluctantly agreed. In the time it took me to change the setting on the camera, you had changed your mind and started to enjoy yourself. So I guess how you train a dragon is in three steps. 1. Climb up on to it’s back. 2. Be brave and hold on tight. 3. Sit back and enjoy the ride. This was much more fun than just waiting for a taxi!

Journalling reads: If I had to pick just one photo to sum you up, it would be this one. It shows off your cheeky impish personality perfectly. I actually remember that when I took this photo I was trying to get a photograph of your first tooth while you were stood in the travel cot. Every time I focused the camera you would start jumping up or sitting down or even worse closing your mouth and shaking your head. Somehow even though your mouth is wide open in this shot we still couldn’t manage to capture that tooth! 1st June 2010.

Journalling reads: Logan may have only been 8 months old on his first Easter but he seemed to grasp perfectly that these shiny things mummy gave him had chocolate inside them. He had no trouble at all in working out how to rip the foil covering off to get to the chocolate inside. What surprised me most is that he not only got his egg out of the box and out of the wrapper by himself, but he managed to do both and eat half the egg before Lukas opened up the cardboard box on his that’s quite a talent!

Mummy + Sling = Stupid

Mummy + Sling = Stupid, originally uploaded by Lukasmummy.

Black Journalling reads: Sometimes I do crazy things that even astound me with the level of stupidity. Like when we decided to take the boys to a fireworks display at South Park and thought it would be a good idea to take Logan in the sling. I even remember standing there and saying, “I carry him around all day long how can a sling be much different.” Of course what i didn’t account for was the distance we had to walk, the sheer amount of people and the fact that most of them were ignorant students who didn’t look where they were going or the fact that the display started at least 30 minutes late.. By the time that it started I was hurting and we were cold and fed up. That’s when Logan decided that he was done with the sling, hated the dark oh yeah and fireworks that made loud bangs sucked. As you can guess we were kind of glad when it was over at least until we ended up waiting over an hour for a bus home!
White Journalling reads: LESSON LEARNT: NEXT TIME TAKE A PUSHCHAIR !! OR JUST MAKE DADDY WEAR THE SLING !!

Enabling: Adventure 365 Template 3 by Mad Genius Designs is available in this set and Adventure 365 February and Adventure 365 February Glitter by Mad Genius Designs are available here and here.

Journalling reads: Your birthday didn’t exactly go to plan, but then to be fair it’s never really does. We tried to make the best of it and you ended up having a good time, although that might have had a little bit to do with the fact that you got two birthday cakes. This vanilla sponge bake with vanilla icing and jelly sweets (to cut up for everyone) and a decorated Cars cake for me to photograph and scrap! What can I say I guess all birthdays can be made better when there is cake involved. 3rd August 2006.

Journalling reads: I hate to admit that the television is a big part of our life, but I also love that I can get a few minutes peace and quiet to do things, while you both sit and watch tv. I do try to limit your tv time and pick only shows, that have some educational value to make myself feel better. You both seem to prefer shows that are have lots of music in them. Special Agent OSO was the first show you watched together. Handy Manny appears to be Logan’s current favourite. While Mickey Mouse Clubhouse appears to be Lukas’s favourite of the shows that I approve of. Phineas and Ferb is the only show that’s loved by everyone including us!
